JOB DESCRIPTION

The Operations Control Management team (OCM) provides comprehensive operational, regulatory and governance support for SSO & NM.

The team is responsible for implementing proactive operational risk management controls consistently across SSO & NM  and reporting on risk events as and when these happen.

The team is forward-thinking in terms of how it manages risk with data management and associated tooling being a core enabler.

The latest data tools are used to harvest, analyse and report information / data across different parts of SSO & NM and data visualization is extensively used to help drive better decision-making.

The OCM ability to apply Data Quality, Data Visualisation, Data Lineage and Machine Learning to develop, implement and maintain a best in class governance and control environment is critical to the success of SSO & NM.

Operations Control Management Department Description:

1. The Operations Control Management (OCM) office is a key function for Operations in the current environment and to meet the increasing demands from the business and regulators, the role has continued to evolve.  The focus of the role is now on ownership, design, enhancement and execution of the controls and is becoming more closely aligned with the operations function. 
2. OCM is responsible for the oversight of the Control Environment for the Operations functions that support the business.  OCM works in partnership with the BCM to provide the business with a comprehensive view of control risk

5. Representing Operations interests vis-a-vis control/regulatory initiatives

2. Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
3. Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies
4. Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units
5. Manage a team of control managers and work closely with senior stake holders to drive the Operations strategy.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 3-7 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred. Proficient in Intelligent automation tools like Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath preferred
3. Risk Management: Understands how operational risk is managed within the firm and the data sources, tools and governance forums leveraged 
4. Data Visualization: Ability to apply Data Quality, Data Visualisation, Data Lineage and Machine Learning to develop, implement and maintain a best in class governance and control environment . Analytical Thinker: Able to analyse data in different ways and highlight the key messages from the data analysis including recommended actions
5. Good Communicator: Excellent written and verbal skills given the communication required with global stakeholders. Also able to present and rationaise their opinion to senior stakeholders . Highly Organised: Able to manage competing demands under pressure for time and manage expectations and across both Controls Management and Operations teams
6. Product Knowledge: Familiarity with securities and derivatives processing, asset servicing, mutual fund and hedge fund administration, settlement and collateral management, reconciliations and billing will be preferred. People Management – 5-7 years of people management in a senior role
